Access music offline or streaming online
Google Play Music is a combination of a device-based music player and streaming music utility.
Smart recommendations
Functioning both on smartphones and tablets, Google Play Music provides users a way to access large amounts of music through a Wi-Fi or data connection.
Google Play Music sorts music files through different options like: recent, artists, albums, songs, playlists, and genres. It also has options for adding songs to playlists or searching for more information about the artist online. You can create a radio based on a song, artist or album that you like and Google Play Music will then recommend you songs based on your likes.
The app includes Listen Now, which shows recently played music and improved recommendations, as well as allowing you to pick a radio station according to mood or activity (examples being running, happy or going out). The queue can also understand where you are playing the music from - whether that be a playlist, an album or something else.
You can also purchase the music from Google Play and then share this with friends.
Impressive streaming quality
Essentially, users do not have to have any music on their device in order to play music, and they can stream music to their device over a data connection by using cloud storage. Music uploaded can then be downloaded to the device for offline listening.
The quality of the streaming music can be changed within the options as well as streaming via Wi-Fi only. The streaming quality of Google Play Music is impressive. There were no issues playing high quality 320 kbps songs.
All your music in one place
Google Play Music is the perfect combination of offline music player and personal online streaming service.
Two access models
There are two ways that you can access Google Play Music. First there is the standard model, which is free and allows you to store up to 20,000 songs or buy more through Google Play, access music anywhere and use the app without adverts.
Then there is the All Access model, which is similar to other music streaming services such as Spotify. For a monthly fee, you can access all the above plus listen to unlimited music, create your own radio stations and get personalized recommendations.

Amazing Service. The other reviews are full of crap..
The other reviews are total BS. There is nothing even remotely true about either of them. I can only assume one of Google's rivals paid them to say that, or they're just idiots.Google Music is the best online music service I've ever used. By far. It's like iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora all rolled into one (and no, it doesn't somehow magically delete your files off your hard drive if you upload them). Enough said.
Pros:
Massive Cloud Storage for MP3s.
Largest catalog of digital music for sale anywhere.
Fast.
No ads.
Available streaming on your PC through your browser and mobile devices simultaneously. No file syncing required.
Daily free songs available from the catalog.
Mobile version caches songs as you're listening so you don't skip if you lose connection.
Option to automatically cache ahead while on WiFi and charging to save on data once you go out.
Google Music Unlimited offers all the service of Spotify and Pandora put together and for cheaper. Unlimited access to millions of songs.
Cons:
Can only download individual tracks 2 times each if you want a local copy. After that you have to use the Music Manager application, with which you can only download your entire library in bulk.
Mobile app player lacks some advanced functionality. More

they are liars and thieves.
i chose google play because it said it would store music on my device. it is cached in within the app and sometimes unavailable unless i am connected to the internet. the only way to actually possess the music that i purchased is to go to the google website and download it as a zip file. Liars
Pros:
my credit card was charged immediatly. now iam forced to give a user name and become part of a softonic community in order to even give this review. Very sad to see that google is so quicky moving away from doing no evil.
Cons:
sometimes i click on a song and a completely different song plays. Music is not placed on device in a usable form by anything other than google play. if you have more than one device you must choose to keep on each device utilizing twice as much data, if you want to listen to it offline. then the only way to actually posess the music you purchased and payed for utilized your data to listen to, is to spend yet more of your data to download them as a zip file to a computer. this all costs much more than a cd. Your songs will be deleted form your computer.
I will NEVER use google play again after learning out how it works, the hard way.
First, I am a former DJ who still spins music for personal pleasure at home. My library is large, 15,000+ songs, that were all sorted and organized pretty efficiently for my tastes and needs. After the initial running of the music manager, I realized that google play doesn't copy your files to the cloud, it removes them from your computer! Not good for cuing up songs in another program that's looking for those files on my hard drive!
Now, my songs are finally being downloaded back to my computer at an agonizingly slow rate, even though my internet speeds are fairly fast; 15mbs down/5mbs up. After about 20 hours now i have 52 of my 160 gigs of music back. It's gonna be another full day before it's done!
Also, there are now over 3500+ new folders created on my computer also, for all these songs to go back into, instead of the 30 or so folders that they were in originally! More
